Day1Festive colour hunt

5 minutes · No supplies

Spot something red, something green and something gold around the room. Point to each one, then make up a funny name for your favourite colour. Stay in one room with a grown-up.

Day2A tree full of shapes

10 minutes · Paper and crayons

Draw one big triangle for a tree. Add circle baubles, a square present and a star at the top. How many different shapes can you fit in?

Day4Festive freeze dance

5 minutes · A favourite song

Ask a grown-up to play a song. Wiggle while it plays and freeze when it stops. Try a reindeer pose! Seated dancing works too. Clear a safe space first.

Day5Five sparkling stars

10 minutes · Paper and crayons

Draw five big stars. Give each a different pattern: spots, stripes, zigzags or your own idea. Count them together, then name your brightest star.

Day6Build a Christmas tree

10 minutes · Large blocks or paper

Use large, age-appropriate blocks to build a tree shape on the floor. No blocks? Draw a stack of green triangles instead. What could you put at the very top?

Day7A card full of kindness

10 minutes · Paper and crayons

Draw a card for someone you care about. Add a happy picture and one kind sentence, or ask a grown-up to write your words. Deliver it with a smile.

Day8A shadow adventure

5 minutes · A torch and a grown-up

Ask a grown-up to hold a torch towards a clear wall. Make a big hand shadow and tell a tiny Christmas story about it. Keep the room easy to move around in and never shine the torch into eyes.

Day9What is missing?

5 minutes · Three large, safe objects

Ask a grown-up to choose a book, a soft toy and a cup. Look carefully, close your eyes, then guess which one they hid. Swap roles and try again.

Day10The silliest Santa story

5 minutes · Just imagination

Make up a story using these three words: Santa, sandwich and spaceship. Take turns adding a sentence. Draw your favourite part if you want to keep the story.

Day11Design your own gift wrap

10 minutes · Paper and crayons

Fill a page with a repeating pattern of stars, trees and dots. Try two colours, then invent a pattern of your own. No cutting or wrapping needed.

Day12Your festive masterpiece

10 minutes · Paper and crayons

Draw your happiest Christmas scene. Tell a grown-up the story behind it. If you would like to share it with us, ask a grown-up to use Share your masterpiece below. Sending a picture does not automatically put it in the gallery.

You’ll need: paper, age-appropriate crayons and a grown-up to play along.
