These terms govern purchases from our online store and use of our website. Our Shipping Policy, Refund and Returns Policy and Privacy Policy provide additional information.
Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
-
PLACING AN ORDER
You must have legal capacity to enter into the transaction. If purchasing for a business or another person, you must have authority to do so.
Please review your items, quantities, delivery address and total price before paying. Provide accurate information and contact us promptly if you identify an error.
An automated order acknowledgement confirms receipt of your order, not necessarily acceptance. We accept an order when we expressly confirm acceptance or dispatch the goods, whichever occurs first. Payment received before acceptance remains subject to your applicable cancellation and refund rights.
Please retain your order confirmation and these terms for your records. You may request a copy of your order details from us.
-
PRICES AND PAYMENT
Prices are displayed in South African rand. Applicable taxes and delivery charges must be disclosed before you complete payment.
Payment must be made using an available checkout method. Dispatch is subject to payment confirmation and reasonable fraud-prevention checks.
We will never change an agreed price or charge an additional amount without your agreement.
If a genuine pricing or product-information error occurs, we will explain it promptly and propose a lawful resolution. We may correct an error or cancel an affected order only where legally permitted. You are not obliged to accept a higher price or substitute product.
Price changes do not retrospectively change accepted orders.
-
STOCK AND PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS
We aim to keep stock availability and product descriptions accurate. If an ordered item becomes unavailable, we will notify you promptly and arrange an appropriate refund or an alternative that you expressly accept.
Descriptions identify the product and what is included. Styling props shown in photographs are not included unless stated. Minor differences caused by screen settings or packaging updates do not permit us to supply a materially different product.
We will not substitute a different colour, model or product without your agreement where that difference is material to your order.
-
DELIVERY
Delivery charges, available destinations and estimated delivery periods are explained in our Shipping Policy and at checkout.
Please provide an accessible physical address and accurate contact details. Additional delivery costs caused by incorrect information or an avoidable missed delivery may be charged only where reasonable, disclosed and legally permitted.
We remain responsible for our legal delivery obligations even when a courier or supplier fulfils the order.
-
CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS AND DEFECTS
Please refer to our Refund and Returns Policy for return arrangements.
Contact us before sending a return so we can provide the correct address and instructions. This administrative process does not make statutory cancellation or return rights dependent on our approval.
Any manufacturer’s warranty is additional to, and does not replace, your statutory rights. You may contact us directly about defective or unsafe products rather than being required to deal only with the manufacturer.
Sale items retain applicable statutory protection.
-
TOY SAFETY AND APPROPRIATE USE
Follow the age recommendations, assembly instructions, warnings and supervision requirements supplied with each product.
Where applicable, small parts, magnets, batteries, cords and packaging can pose serious hazards. Keep these away from children for whom the product is unsuitable. Check toys regularly and stop using damaged products.
General website information does not replace product-specific warnings. We must still provide legally required safety information; these terms are not a substitute for it.
Educational descriptions do not guarantee a particular developmental or learning outcome.
These safety responsibilities do not excuse us from liability for unsafe products, inadequate warnings or other matters for which the law holds us responsible.
-
WEBSITE AND ACCOUNT USE
Do not use our website for fraud, unauthorised access, malicious software, harassment or other unlawful activity.
Keep any account password confidential and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse or protect the store. Restricting access does not remove our obligations concerning existing orders, refunds or consumer rights.
-
WEBSITE CONTENT
Our original branding, text and other website content, and content used under licence, remain the property of their respective owners.
You may use the website for ordinary shopping and personal reference. Commercial reproduction or misuse of protected content requires permission or another lawful basis.
-
LIABILITY AND DISRUPTIONS
We take reasonable care in operating the store but cannot promise uninterrupted website access.
Where events outside our reasonable control affect an order, we will take reasonable steps to reduce the disruption, communicate with you and provide remedies required by law.
We do not exclude liability for fraud, gross negligence, statutory product liability or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. There is no blanket waiver of liability for injury, defective goods or courier loss.
Responsibility for any loss will be determined under applicable law and the circumstances of the claim.
-
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. Placing an order does not, by itself, provide consent to optional marketing or unnecessary tracking.
-
COMPLAINTS AND GOVERNING LAW
Please send complaints to sales@doodledassie.co.za with your order number and a description of the issue.
You may also approach an applicable consumer ombud, regulator, tribunal or court. You are not required to waive these avenues or accept compulsory private arbitration.
South African law governs these terms, without excluding any mandatory protections that apply to a transaction.
-
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
Updated terms apply prospectively. An existing order remains subject to the terms applicable when it was placed, unless a lawful change is expressly agreed with you.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent legally possible.
